Abstracts included in the official International Liver Congress™ 2019 press conferences and/or official press kit

Any abstracts selected for official release by EASL (either at the ILC 2019 official Press Conferences or through media alerts) will be made available to media representatives in advance of the Congress under embargo until 00:01 CET on the day the abstract is presented at the Congress. Details of the abstract and any associated content may be published from this time. Any earlier reporting will be in violation of the embargo.

Press releases by industry or academic institutions relating to this content may not be issued until after the presentation or press conference, whichever comes first.

Abstracts not included in the official International Liver Congress™ 2019 press conferences and/or official press kit

A large number of abstracts will be made available on the ILC 2019 website prior to the Congress. Press releases may be issued by industry or academic institutions once the abstract is available online. Only the information contained within the abstract may be released at this time.

Press release approval

Intended press releases by industry or academic institutions must be submitted electronically in advance to the ILC Press Office for review. Due to the high volume of submissions, please submit your press release as soon as it is finalised and by a deadline of 29 March 2019.

Following a 48-hour review period, the ILC Press Office will notify you if any changes are needed in-line with the guidelines outlined below.

Please be aware of the following guidance:

  • Within the first paragraph of your press release please acknowledge that the data are being presented at The International Liver CongressTM
  • Press releases must directly relate to meeting abstracts and fully adhere to the ILC 2019 embargo policy.
  • EASL’s logos including the ILC 2019 logo and/or graphic representations of EASL may not be used without written permission from the ILC 2019 Press Office.
  • EASL reserves the right to make judgments and/or decisions about any issues that arise that are not covered in these guidelines.
