The EASL Governing Board decided to modify the grand round concept in 2016. The objective of this concept is to foster interaction between a broad audience of clinicians during The International Liver Congress™ through a live discussion of interesting clinical cases. Senior members of major European institutions will present an interesting or challenging case together with a junior member of their team. Each case presented will represent a challenge of broad interest to the audience and aim to nurture discussions. A co-chair, from another institution, will be present in the intention of animating the debate.
There will be 5 grand round sessions taking place on Friday 12 April from 11:30 to 12:30:
- Expect the unexpected: HBV reactivation
- Managing alcohol addiction and alcohol-related complications in patients with cirrhosis
- When to evaluate patients with NASH for HCC
- Management of puritus
- Diagnostic tools for hepato-cholangiocarcinoma. How do we manage these patients? (happening in the hepatology arena)
